• Please prepare approximately 1 minute of a song in the style of the show. Preferably a song written by Stephen Sondheim but not from Sweeney Todd.
• Sheet music must be provided in your key with selection indicated for accompanist. Due to the nature of this show, you must audition with the accompanist – pre-recorded tracks and a capella will not be accepted.
• Please arrive dressed ready for a movement call.

Video submissions will be accepted - must be received by Tuesday, July 7 @ 10 p.m.

Play Synopsis:

An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!

Rehearsal Dates:

Rehearsals will begin August 1 and will be held 3-4 days per week depending on requirements and availability. Typical rehearsal schedule will be Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Character Descriptions:

All roles are open. We are a nonprofit, non-union theatre.  Actors will receive a $100 stipend.

AGE REQUIREMENT We will consider performers age 16+ for the role of Toby. All other performers must be over the age of 18 prior to August 1, 2026.

Sweeney Todd - A wrongfully imprisoned barber seeking to right the wrongs committed against him. He is Johanna’s father, singularly focused on taking bloody revenge. Our story’s tormented protagonist.
